Cardano carried 27 thousand transactions a day over the past week, 4 percent more than the week before.
First, the scorecard. We said ADA closes below $0.2457 on November 4, a bar set 19.5 percent above where it was on October 28. It measured $0.1916, so we got that one right. That puts the running record at 19 right, 14 wrong, 1 void.
How much is Cardano actually used? Over the past seven days the chain carried 27 thousand transactions a day on average. That is 4 percent more than the week before. That works out to 0.31 transactions a second on average, and the busiest minute of the week ran at 2.0 a second. One Cardano transaction can carry many payments at once, so a count of transactions is a floor on activity, not a ceiling. The number of wallets transacting, counted by stake key, averaged 6.7 thousand a day, 6 percent more than the week before. A transaction here is anything recorded on the chain, from a payment to a swap to a vote, so this counts activity, not people. Why it matters: transactions are the plainest record of whether a chain is being used.
Also today. ADA is at 19.2 cents, up 2.3 percent on the day — down 29.3 percent over thirty days and down 7.2 percent on the week. That is 3.4 percent above the bottom of its thirty-day range, 18.5 cents.
One more thing. Who is building Cardano. Today: Ada Handle, from the team at Kora Labs. A Cardano address is a string of about a hundred letters and numbers, and it's easy to get one wrong. An Ada Handle is a short name, a dollar sign followed by a word, that points to your address, so people can send you ADA using the name instead. About 270,000 handles have been created so far. Each handle is a token that sits in its owner's own wallet, so you hold the name yourself. Why it matters: sending ADA to a name instead of a long code means fewer costly typos, and that makes Cardano a little easier for the next new holder.
Now the prediction. Today's claim: Cardano's seven-day average is above 25.6 thousand transactions a day seven days from now, a bar set 5.1 percent below this week's. It stands at 26,965 as this is recorded. We'll score it on November 11, automatically, against the same measurement — and if it's wrong, it stays on the board as wrong. Think I've got it wrong?
